Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut water See Notes
  • 1 fresh or frozen banana quartered
  • 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder of choice
  • 1 scooop Grassfed Collagen I use Perfect Supplements Grassfed Collagen
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2-4 tbsp Healthy Fat of choice Peanut butter, egg yolk, or butter are our favorites. You could do olive oil, raw cream, or coconut butter too.

Instructions

  • Everything into your blender to blend until smooth.

Notes

  • I use Trader Joe's 100% coconut water - there are no added ingredients to this. Be sure to check the label where you are shopping. I found this one by Whole Foods on Amazon that is just coconut water, and this Zico brand is 100% (not all of them by this brand and many others are all coconut water, so be sure to check the label!)
  • If you're traveling with your drink to have after practice or workouts, keep it cold in a thermos in a cooler, and shake it up before drinking.
  • Everyone has different thickness preferences when it comes to smoothies and drinks. My youngest prefers them easy to drink and thinner, so this is like a smooth, creamy chocolate milk consistency. If you or your kids prefer a thicker smoothie consistency, make sure you use frozen bananas, and you could also freeze your coconut water into cubes.
  • If your crew isn't into banana, use dates to sweeten to your taste instead.
  • My chocolate protein powder is sweetened with monk fruit, so it is quite sweet after adding the banana. If your protein powder is not sweetened, and the banana doesn't quite sweeten it enough, you could either add some dates or honey.
