The cleanest skin care, personal care, spa, hair care, and cosmetics in non toxic skin care that actually works!

Product links in this post are affiliate links. It does not cost you anything, and helps maintain the free information on this site, as well as answer the questions of “what brand do you use?” Please know I never personally recommend any product I wouldn’t use on my own family.
Where the passion began…
When I was in my early 20’s I found myself super sick with a myriad of issues stemming from some hormone and thyroid imbalances. After finding a doctor that could actually help me find the root causes and fix instead of band-aide the problem, I quickly found out that a lot of the personal care products I was using on a daily and weekly basis were a huge part of the problem.

A momma bear and her girls
It was actually pretty hard to find clean personal care products over 2 decades ago when I started this journey. I ended up doing a lot of homemade personal care products, coconut oil…and…”no-poo” methods (ie no shampoos…just vinegar…yeah…don’t ask!). BUT! I was determined to make sure that any kids that I had didn’t have to suffer the hormone difficulties that I had. The switch was worth it. And the products have gotten so much better!

Know better, do better
Over 2 decades later, I can actually make a *huge* list of squeaky clean personal care products for tweens, teens, moms, and grandmas too! I’m so proud of these companies for taking the stand and saying no to cheap chemicals that cause so many medical issues. I will add to the list as I can, and would love to hear what you try!

How to get started
I formatted each category of personal care products as a PDF with clickable links and QR code links. My hope is that you’ll be able to send these PDF’s to your daughters so they can send you what they want to try. Leave the ball in their court as much as you can so they feel a part of making the choice. Explain to them the WHY behind using products that don’t have chemicals.
Don’t want to look at them all individually?

SKIN CARE
Would you believe it if I told you that we use a water free face system for my teenagers?! No washing and oil stripping daily. Just a natural exfoliating scrub every other day or so, and a make-up cloth for any make-up. They use the Froya Organics systems which is just a super tiny amount of a balm in the morning and evening. It makes for super clear skin that doesn’t over produce oil from being stripped. BUT! There are some other really great skin care systems on the market, as well as some fun face masks and pampering items to choose from here! Click the image below or HERE for the SKIN CARE LIST.
PERFUMES
This was probably one of the hardest swaps for me over 2 decades ago. Don’t be jealous…but this 90’s kid had the whole Malibu, CK One, and Exclamation line-up in my teens! Those fragrances can really make for big hormone disruption, and I have no doubt contributed to the myriad of hormone issues I had as a teenager. Thankfully, there are SO many more options now that *actually* smell good – I promise you won’t smell like a hippy crunchy momma unless you want that kind of scent! We are an ESAS house through and through (my personal fav is Bare), and my oldest actually really loves the Eden’s Garden brand in the Allure scent. DEODORANT
We are trying to avoid the aluminum and hormone disrupting fragrances in this category! We mix around using just about all of the deodorants on this list. They are all good, and, most importantly, they all work. Check out your local health food stores and even some grocery stores for some of these brands too! HAIR CARE
Hair care is so hard to find without endocrine disrupting fragrances and crazy long lists of ingredients. Finding brands that actually work has gotten easier though. Here is a list of some of our favorites we have tried. For the most part, the first 3 brands are what we use in our house regularly. Click the image below or HERE for the HAIR CARE LIST.
BODY CARE
This was actually a harder one to narrow down. There are so many great non-toxic choices for body care these days, and that is such a good thing. My biggest avoids in this category are the fragrances, colors, and toxic/rancid oils such as sunflower, soy, and safflower. We mostly use the first 3 brands here, but definitely have used all of these and love them! Click the image below or HERE for the BODY CARE LIST.
NAIL CARE
One of my girls does her nails every single weekend…without fail! She loves doing nail art, and has a whole Pinterest board of nail ideas she likes to duplicate! These nail polish brands don’t peel or chip, and have great color without the toxins. My daughter has and uses all of these brands. Click the image below or HERE for the NAIL CARE LIST.

LIP BALMS
Such fun stocking stuffers, and in just about every girls bag or purse! Since lip balms are literally going on our mouths, my biggest avoids in this category are the fragrances, colors, and toxic/rancid oils such as sunflower, soy, and safflower. Here are some fun ones to try! I also listed their main base so you can see the types of oils to look for in a balm. Click the image below or HERE for the LIP BALM LIST.
MAKE-UP
My crew isn’t super into make-up, and I actually think that must be somewhat the generation? I don’t see a lot of girls wearing a ton of make-up, at least around here, and I think that is such a great trend! These natural beauties don’t need much! Here are some fun things to try for your girls that do love to use make-up. I use the 100% Pure brand exclusively in our home. Click the image below or HERE for the MAKE-UP LIST.

Love the post and such wonderful ideas. I definitely added a few of them to my daughter’s stocking stuffer list. There were a couple of links in the makeup section that took me to nail polish.
Hi Amber! Thank you for the heads up – So sorry about that! I’ll go through the links again and fix!
